City University of Hong Kong’s Animal Health Centre will find its new home at Sham Shui Po, as one of the largest vet clinics in Hong Kong. The premise will provide E.R. services to feline, canine and exotic animals 24/7. External façade and structural alterations will be minimized in order to create the least disturbance to the neighbourhood. Circulation of animal, caretaker and staff has been carefully designed to create different zones of acoustic performances, as animals visiting the clinic will be sensitive to noise. Finishing materials with no toxin emittance and easy maintenance have been selected to ensure no harm will be posted to animals. Our vision throughout the design has been to provide a place that is comfortable and safe for both users and animals.
